There is a flower that looks like a butterfly in flight, with petals in a variety of colors, some even featuring unique patterns. I’m sure you’ve guessed it—it's the Phalaenopsis orchid. Originating from tropical rainforests, it attracts insects with its beauty to continue its lineage. This "beauty" is perfect for placing in the centerpiece of the living room, especially when relatives or friends come over during holidays, giving your home an extra flair.
You’ve probably already seen the beauty of the Phalaenopsis orchid and its elegant blooms. So, how can you preserve its most beautiful moments for a longer time? Aside from encouraging it to bloom again, you can also preserve the best blooms by drying them. This way, you can keep its beauty forever! On the internet, dried Phalaenopsis orchids can be sold for as much as 100 yuan, but in reality, you can do it yourself at no cost.

So, how do you do it? There are two main methods: natural air-drying and using a drying agent. The natural air-drying method is the most cost-effective—simply find a well-ventilated place that isn’t exposed to direct sunlight.
Steps for natural air-drying:
Choose a Phalaenopsis orchid flower that hasn't fully bloomed yet, and cut it from the stem.
Take a fishing line and gently thread it through the stem.
Hang the flower in a well-ventilated place, such as a garage or attic, ensuring that air can circulate. After about 2-3 weeks, gently touch the petals. If they have become crisp and hard, and the color has deepened, that means they are fully dried.
Finally, place the dried flowers in a transparent container or arrange them into a bouquet for decoration.
Steps for using a drying agent:
This method requires spending a little money because you’ll need to buy silica gel and a transparent container from online stores or craft shops.
Pour about half of the drying agent into the container.
Carefully place the Phalaenopsis orchid inside the container, ensuring the petals are not damaged. If necessary, you can use a small paper cup to support the flower.
Once the flower is properly positioned, fill the container with the remaining drying agent until the flower is fully covered.
Seal the container and let it sit for 7-10 days. The drying agent will absorb all the moisture from the flower.
After the drying process is complete, open the container and use a makeup brush to gently remove the drying agent from the flower. Now, your dried flower is ready to be used for decoration!
