Recommendations for Potted Plants that Bloom Profusely in Summer

As the intense heat of summer arrives, today I'd like to introduce several types of flowers that can still grow vigorously and bloom profusely in the summer high temperatures.
### 1. Jasmine (Jasminum sambac)
Jasmine produces small white flowers in summer, with a rich fragrance. It is not only an ornamental flower but also an important spice plant and raw material for tea.
**Care Tips**:
- Loves full sunlight; grows even better when exposed to direct outdoor sun.
- Follow the "water when dry, soak thoroughly" principle; water deeply after the soil dries out completely.
- Prune faded flowers promptly after blooming to promote new branch growth and reblooming.
### 2. Malabar Spinach (Aptenia cordifolia)
Malabar spinach has thick, lush green leaves and rose-red flowers. It can be used for both ornamental purposes and as a vegetable (edible young stems and leaves).
**Care Tips**:
- No need for shade; the stronger the light, the more abundant the blooms.
- Water thoroughly each time, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings; avoid waterlogging.
### 3. Pomegranate (Punica granatum)
Pomegranate flowers have a unique bell-shaped form, and the plant bears fruit in autumn, combining ornamental and edible value.
**Care Tips**:
- Best planted outdoors or on a south-facing balcony to ensure at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Supplement with phosphorus-potassium fertilizer during the growing season to promote flower bud differentiation.
### 4. Sunflower (Portulaca grandiflora)
Commonly known as the "hardy plant," sunflowers come in rich varieties with flower colors including red, yellow, pink, etc., and single or double petals that face the sun.
**Care Tips**:
- Drought-resistant and sun-tolerant, requiring ample sunlight.
- Water every 2-3 days in high temperatures; avoid prolonged drought.
- Extremely easy to propagate via cuttings, making it suitable for beginners.
### 5. Rain Lily (Zephyranthes spp.)
Rain lilies are composed of various bulbous plants with leaves resembling chives, and they bloom rapidly after rain, mostly in pink or white.
**Care Tips**:
- Plant bulbs in loose soil; thrive in high temperatures and strong light.
- Follow the "soak thoroughly when dry" principle; natural rainwater in summer can help induce blooming.
### 6. Periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus)
Also known as "Day-Long Spring," periwinkle has small, delicate flowers in rich colors, blooming continuously from spring to autumn.
**Care Tips**:
- Tolerates poor soil and high temperatures; prefers well-draining soil.
- Avoid waterlogging when watering; maintain ample sunlight in high temperatures to sustain flower quantity.
**Additional Care Tips**:
Although these flowers are sun-resistant, water them in the early morning or evening during high temperatures to avoid "watering with hot water" at noon. Applying phosphorus-potassium fertilizer occasionally can double the blooming effect.
