With the continuous development of urban planning and the rise of high-rise buildings, living in areas under construction makes it difficult to avoid dust and pollution, which seriously affects the quality of the living environment. Today, I recommend a few plants that can absorb dust and purify the air.

Pothos (Devil's Ivy)
One of the most familiar sights in every flower shop is the bright green leaves of pothos, which resemble large commas. Not only does it help protect eyesight, but it also combats air pollution. It is also known as one of the easiest plants to care for.
Functionally, pothos can remove ammonia and trichloroethylene from the air. When kept indoors, it can release negative ions, helping to relieve eye fatigue. In terms of care, it can be grown in soil or water. It prefers shade and does not like direct sunlight, making it suitable for placement in areas with indirect light, such as living rooms or study rooms. For watering, it follows the "half-shade, half-moist" principle. In water culture, the roots should not stay submerged for too long, with one-third of the roots exposed to air, and the water should be changed once a month.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has a palm-like appearance, growing upwards. Whether placed in a large pot outdoors (for good luck) or a smaller version indoors, it helps protect home health.
Functionally, aloe vera continuously improves air quality 24 hours a day. It releases oxygen during the day and absorbs carbon dioxide at night, purifying the indoor air. For care, it prefers garden soil mixed with 30-50% coarse river sand to protect the roots from waterlogging. Water it based on the "water when the soil is dry" principle.
Swiss Cheese Plant (Monstera)
The Swiss Cheese Plant has unique leaves, which may appear torn (the more torn the leaves, the better it absorbs harmful gases). The leaves can reach up to 40 cm in width and symbolize health and longevity.
Functionally, it is recognized as an expert at absorbing formaldehyde and carbon dioxide, with its absorption ability being strongest at night, making it a perfect "oxygen bar" for the bedroom. In terms of care, it thrives in shady environments and prefers to be in well-ventilated spaces. It is suitable for placement on the east or north-facing windowsills of living rooms. The ideal temperature for growth is between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. It is recommended to use slightly acidic sandy soil. In spring and autumn, applying a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month can help the plant grow healthily.
